             Preparation of monolayer

Solvents for surfactant compounds:            hexane, benzene, toluene,
                                                                        chloroform, and so on.

Concentrations:                                            of about 10-3 M/l

                                                                        (solubility should be high)

Water subphase:                                           definite   pH  value   and

                                                                        salt concentration

                                                                        (if necessary)

Drop by drop solution of surfactant compound in organic solvent is deposited onto the surface of water subphase of required composition. After evaporation of solvent the monolayer is compressed by barriers moving along the surface.
