Scanning Near-field Optical Microscopy (SNOM)
A commercial instrument (A.P.E. Research SNOM ) has been adapted in order to be sensitive to the optical anisotropy of samples: we selected two SNOM contrast mechanisms suitable for molecular axis determination or optical dichroism, birefringence or fluorescence measurements. The molecular axis determinations has been done in 2 ways: by modulating the polarization at the input of fiber or analyzing the polarization components of the transmitted light.
